We made a lot of holographic portraits for Margaret Benyon, the first serie in 85 for the "Cosmetic Serie" in our laboratory. Margot, model at Givenchy was our first model. We gave one of his portraits to Margaret Benyon, the other to Dominique Mulhem. Margaret made the two white light reflection holograms from our master. She told us that this master was damaged and there was no other printing.
Then Margaret came as artist in residence to create the portraits of the series « Cosmetic », repainted with gouache. The following year, in 1986, she came for another series of portraits, animated.
We produced five masters for the portraits repainted in gouache 30×40 cm with a very beautiful perspex frame chosen by Margaret.
To complete the series, we bought Tigirl from her.
Two male portraits were also made in 20×25 cm : Stéphane painted and Stéphane in profile.
In 1986, Margaret came to complete the serie with the same model, Bénédicte.
This time, the portraits were no longer repainted with gouache. There were three Bénédicte actress holograms 20×25 cm two exposures, Bénédicte revealed 30 x40 two exposures and Split Bénédicte 30×40 three exposures. Although Margaret did not realize this hologram, but only used our master, it was her favorite since she chose it for the poster of her exhibition « Mirage, image » at the Museum of Holography.
All these holograms were produced in the Museum’s laboratory, by the museum’s team, under my direction, with the technical assistance of Dr. J. Webster. The are available for sale.
